Recently, Tesla introduced a highly ambitious concept, but it hasn’t even settled on a name yet—whether to call it “Robotaxi” or “CyberCab” (or is it “Cybercab”?). This isn’t a finished, ready-to-launch product or anything close to that. It’s merely a concept—an idea that Elon Musk is banking on to fuel Tesla’s next wave of excitement, which could drive up the stock price and further increase his wealth.
Tesla has released a short official video demonstrating how this concept vehicle charges wirelessly. The video is visually impressive, but at this stage, it’s just a demonstration. It showcases the vision of a fully autonomous vehicle using a wireless charging system to power itself effortlessly, but for now, it’s purely conceptual.
Everything shown here is still far from being ready for production, let alone driving on actual roads. That doesn’t mean it won’t become a reality one day, but it’s important to remember how much the Cybertruck (Tesla’s previous source of excitement) was delayed. And unlike this concept, the Cybertruck doesn’t drive itself, plus it still has a steering wheel (sort of) and pedals. You get the point.
So, perhaps in ten years, the world could be filled with these Robo Taxies or maybe not. It’s far too soon to say. What’s clear is that they won’t be arriving anytime soon, so it’s good that the video is only 14 seconds long.
